📿 Vedanta Panchadasi – The Secret of Creation


🌿 Part 1 – Why the Self is not seen

In this part, the Guru reveals a very deep truth:

👉 The Self (Ātman) is always present within us.
But we are not able to recognize it.

Why?
Because ignorance (Avidya) is blocking it.


🔊 Example – Many voices hiding one voice

In a classroom, all children are reading loudly together.
A father is trying to hear his son’s voice.

But due to the noise of all children,
he cannot clearly hear his own son.

👉 This is called Samanābhihāra.

Similarly:

Thoughts

Desires

External distractions


👉 These become noise.

And because of that,
👉 the voice of the Self is not heard.


🌫 Ignorance – The Real Obstacle

The real problem is:

👉 Avidya (Ignorance)

It has no beginning

It creates confusion

It makes the world appear real

It hides the Self



🌌 Brahman and Reflection

The true reality is:

👉 Sat–Chit–Ananda Brahman

This Brahman reflects in Prakriti (Nature).

Like:

Sun in the sky

Reflection in water


👉 Reflection looks real, but is not the original.

⚙ Three Gunas

Prakriti has three qualities:

1. Sattva – purity, clarity


2. Rajas – activity, movement


3. Tamas – inertia, ignorance




🌗 Maya and Avidya

Prakriti appears in two forms:

Pure Sattva → Maya → Ishvara

Impure Sattva (mixed with Rajas & Tamas) → Avidya → Jiva



🪞 Broken Mirror Example

Whole mirror → one reflection → Ishvara

Broken mirror → many reflections → Jivas



🧠 Causal Body (Karana Sharira)

Ignorance itself is:

👉 the Causal Body

It is not physical.

👉 It is that which covers the truth.


😴 Prajna State

In deep sleep:

No world

No mind

Only ignorance


👉 The experiencer here is called Prajna



📿 Part 2 – Why Creation Happens

Even though the Self is present,
we don’t recognize it.

Because:

👉 the mind is full of noise.



🌿 The Silent Cry of the Self

The Self is always saying:

👉 “I am here… look at me.”

But we are busy with:

Thoughts

Desires

World


So we don’t notice.


🌍 Why Creation?

👉 Creation exists for experience.

Pleasure

Pain



🌿 Five Elements Created

By Ishvara’s command:

1. Space


2. Air


3. Fire


4. Water


5. Earth



👉 These are for the experience of the Jiva


👁 Instruments of Experience

From Sattva part:

👉 Sense organs (Jñānendriyas)

Hearing

Touch

Sight

Taste

Smell


These are not physical organs,
👉 but powers of perception.

👉 This is Samsara

Self is always present
